Welcome!

Regent Connie McGee and the members of Lt. George Farragut Chapter welcome you! We are located in the Idaho panhandle and are one of nine chapters in the state. Our chapter namesake, Lt. George Farragut, was born in Spain in 1755. Farragut arrived in the Carolinas in 1776 during the Revolutionary War. He served as a lieutenant in the South Carolina Navy where he supervised shipbuilding for the colony and helped in the defense of Savannah. He later commanded a volunteer artillery in North Carolina. By the end of the war Farragut had been promoted to the rank of major. The second of his five children is David Farragut, the famous naval hero of the Civil War.
